Specialities

LGBTQIA+

I am a queer person who has extensive experience providing identity-affirming mental health care to LGBTQIA+ people. I understand that existing as an LGBTQIA+ person often means being discriminated against or misunderstood at work, at school, among friends and family members, and even within the queer community itself. I am also delighted to celebrate and hold space for queer and trans joy. If you are looking for a therapist who is affirming and who can appreciate the nuance of your queer experience, I may be a good fit.

Faith Transitions and Religious Trauma

Many people experience a change in their beliefs over the course of their lifetime. It can be a confusing and difficult experience. Some people experience grief about the change. Some people experience isolation, particularly if many of their family members or friends are inside the faith community. I understand faith transitions from a developmental perspective, meaning that I believe faith transitions are normal. They often are a sign of deep thoughtfulness. As a therapist, I can provide non-judgmental support and complete respect for your journey, wherever it takes you.

Some people experience trauma in connection with their religious upbringing or other religious experiences. Excessive guilt and shame, perfectionism, fear, existential concerns, moral injury, and difficulties with sex are all common. If you need a therapist who is experienced in treating religious trauma, I would be happy to help.

Anxiety and OCD

Most people come to therapy for anxiety and OCD because their worries are overwhelming and they don't know what to do. I am highly skilled at providing evidence-based treatments for anxiety and OCD. These treatments involve gradually pushing back against your fears in a sustainable way that does not overwhelm you. Ultimately, my goal is to help you live your life without anxiety or OCD getting in your way.
